So I understand frags are like little "samples" of a coral that you buy to grow out in your own tank (lmk if my understanding is wrong though). So you buy them and they're attached to those circular plates it looks like. So then how do you put onto a rock in your tank? Do you just pull it off the platform and use some coral glue, put it in the water and press against the rock where you want it? It looks like some videos I see have the circular plate still attached to the coral and the plate is glued to the rock.

Personal preference?

Yes your right in both events.
Some corals you can remove from the plug and glue to your rock other are tough as sometimes you damage the coral like with softies.
Corals will grow and in many cases after a while you don't see the frag plug any more as the corals has taken over.
Hope that makes sense

There are a couple of ways you can go about it. You can try removing the coral from the frag plug and glueing it into your rock in the tank. You can puddy the coral and frag plus to your rock, or you can take the rock out, drill a hole in it to fit your frag plug, and put the plug in the rock. I'm sure there are more ways, but these are the three I use.

Make sure you test the coral in that position before you glue it, just in case they dont like it you can change it.
