hi I just finished a 14 day copper treatment in QT for ich and transferred the Angels to another sterile Tank for treatment for skin flukes. The tank is about 35 gallons total volume. Should I use 4 packets? Each packet treats 10 gallons. Do you think this a good treatment process? Thanks

3.5 packets. I weigh it out with a jewelers scale. But you could dump the 4th packet out and separate it in half visually. I would not overdose and use the entire 4th packet though.

I concur, as usual.

+1 ^^^ You need to be careful as the dose of Metro in GC is pretty close to the maximum dosage. So yes, shake/stir the packet to make sure it's thoroughly blended, and then weigh and divide in half on the last packet.

Dose and then wait 5-7 days. Do a 25% water change and redose. Wait 5-7 days. Do a 25% water change and then observe for 7-10 days.

Ok thanks , I did my first dose yesterday so I will redoes in 6 days. How long do you think it would be before the skin flukes fall off? I was also told that they could resemble ich? They were transferred to a sterile QT yesterday after 14 days of copper. Thanks

Adult flukes should drop within a few hours - second dose in 5-7 days is to kill the next generation, after eggs hatch but before they can lay again.

Hi please take a look at these pics!!! these angels have been through copper treatment at 2.0 using Hanna test kit and API to verify for over 2 weeks. No scratching and eating like pigs. 2 days ago i transferred them to another sterile QT tank to treat for flukes with General cure. After 2 days i still see these flakes on them. Still no scratching,eyes are clear and eating. Someone mentioned Scribbled angels normally have flakes on them just not on their fins. Any input would be appreciated!!!!! Thanks

Looks normal. Scribbled angels have small “flakes” that look could resemble ich or velvet. The best way to diagnose is by looking at the fins l, which should be mostly clear.

I guess i should continue with General cure treatment. Wow you learn something new all the time!!! almost 15 years and never knew Scribbled angels could have flakes on them that resemble velvet or flukes.

@Thomashtom

I would continue with GC. I do not see anything of concern in the photos.
Hi Hotrocks, I appreciate your help!! I finished the GC and gave them a few days for observation and I took these pics. The smaller one looks worse. Eyes are clear ,eating like pigs, have not seen them scratch once in almost 30 days of QT. Really appreciate any help. Thanks Tom

What a gorgeous fish man. I've never seen an angel like that. Are you sure he had ich? From the pictures he almost looks like he's recovering from Velvet. Fish is very pale and still showing some very tiny spots.

Thank you!!! No velvet here. But it does look like it!!. Which makes we wonder what it is? Thanks
