Question about Geo 612 calcium reactor pump old model

Hello, I have a 612 old model calcium reactor. It came with the eheim 1048 pump. Why do the new reactors bring the Sicce 1.5 pump that handles a higher flow of water. Do I need to upgrade my gear with this pump to make it work better? What is the difference in performance?

Circulation inside the reactor will be more rapid with the Sicce but I don't think that will noticably impact the performance. I don't know why they changed, Eheim is an old reliable work horse for a pump, I might guess that the Sicce is quieter, more reliable, or cheaper to substitute for the Eheim, but what specific factors came into making the decision to use Sicce by Geo are unknown to me.

Anyone else?
