I have a waterbox 100.3 (70g tank with 30g sump). I have a vectra S2 pump (1400 gph) for return and I also have a separate pump of similar strength for my UV sterilizer that will also be connected back to the return pipe. How do I set the strength of the 2 pumps running together? Would it be essentially half strength each?

The pump for the UV should be much lower GPM for correct contact time and the original pump should remain at the same speed to maintain flow through the sump.

That makes sense. The reason I asked this is because I accidentally bought the Vectra S2 pump (1400 gph) instead of the M2 (2000 gph) for my Waterbox 100.3. Some people were advising I upgrade it to the M2 but what are your thoughts? The tank is 70g and the sump 30g.

Nothing wrong with 14x turnover rate. 10x minimum.

The m2 would have a 20x turnover rate and for SW you would like contact time in the sump too
