Please give me some advise.

My options for lighting on my (L 36" x W 18" x H 21") 57g rimless (SPS Dominate) are as follows:

- ATI Sunpower 6 Bulb T5 - Cost about $600 w/ Bulbs (LMK if you think six bulbs is overkill)

- Kessil A350 Tuna Blue - Cost $400 (Is this enough coverage for a 3 foot SPS aquarium?)

- Kessil A350 Tuna Blue Wide Angle Lense - Cost $400 (Do I need the wide angle? Will there be enough like penetration?)

I want to go with the LEDs for obvious reasons (Energy cost, no bulb changes, ability to dial in color without buying new bulbs, shimmer, etc), but I need to know if the Kessil can cover a 3' tank or if I need the wide angle is it powerful enough.

Thanks for the help.

Are you looking to cover the whole tank with equal light coverage? If so, then I believe you will need 2 of the Kessils. The ATI fixture will provide an even coverage, with simple PAR higher at the top lower at the bottom. ;)

Now, does that mean you should choose the ATI, I don't think so... Is your tank full now, or will you be stocking it after you choose the light?

I believe the A350W would be pushing it on a 30 inch wide tank, so it would leave dark spots on the 36.

I have a 36x18x24 and You would def need 2 kessils..also you would need the A350 not the wide lense as the optics on the A350 allow for deeper penetration..have you considered the Maxspect Razor..if you don't have a middle brace this might be a good choice..I would def have one of these if I didn't have the center brace..

Take a look at this thread of someone with a 57G using one Kessil 450W lens. The coverage is good:

New build: 57g RR Oceanic Illuminata - Reef Central Online Communityhat being said, if you want to go SPS dominate, having just a single kessil 350W over the tank may not give you the PAR you want in all spots of the tank. I would not go 2 kessils over the tank tho, I think you'd be much better suited to getting a single fixture.

I currently am using Kessil A350W and thus far my sps are growing with good color. My tank is 12" tall and the light is mounted 16" above the water line, SPS are either on bottom or middle of the tank and I am running about 75-80% on both channels (white+blue).
