I need to move my tank (only about 3-5 min down the road) and had a few questions.
It is only 2 clowns and a watchman goby (sadly lost his pistol buddy and will get him another after the move) and more than I like to admit of corals (9 zoa colonies, 1hammer, 1 torch, 2 clove polyps, and 1 GSP) that are all glued to the rock structure in the tank. It is only a 15g so not a huge volume of water.
My questions are:
1) This is short enough I don't need air stones right? It is no different then me taking them home from the LFS in a sealed bag? Also I don't nee heaters or anything right?
2) The corals I just leave on the rock structure right? I plan to get a big sealable bin and just submerge the entire structure in water with corals glued and things. I assume this is fine and I don't need to pop all the corals off the rocks.
3) what percent of water do I keep vs use as new? I assume I don't want to just use all fresh water in the tank once I set it back up? should I try to reuse as much water as possible then just water change it normally. Can I only use tank water in the bins to transport the fish/corals or can I 'make the tank water go further' if I mix it with some new water?
4) does it make sense to just put the rocks, coral, and fish all in the same container or can they possibly get slammed against the rocks and hurt so it is just easier to put them in the separate bags?
anything else I am not thinking of?
