Question about my tank’s water level

Hello everyone,

I would greatly appreciate your opinion on my dilemma.

I filled my new 150g aquarium with water last night:; however the water level is uneven.

Front left: 2 1/2 inches from top
Back left: 2 1/4 inches from top
Front right: 2 1/2 inches from top
Back right: 2 3/8 inches from top

When I leveled the tank before filling it, it was even. As it filled with water the back side has compressed to where it is currently.

The tank is 5’x2’x2’. It is eurobraced/bottom braced 7/16” glass.

Should I solve the water level? Is it fine? Here are some pictures. Thank you.

Do you have photos of your stand and floor.

Did you level the stand to the floor?

The question is what shifted under the weight... Did the floor bend or the stand bend.

If you look at the base of the tank does the tank sit perfectly flat or are their gaps under the tank?

Put the same level on the floor at the corners of the stand and see if the floor is level in that area.

What's the floor under the tank - slab, foundation, second story, etc

Hey Dave, thanks for your help. I checked the floor and it’s good. I 100% know it’s the mat underneath the tank. We used an industrial foam mat then cut to shape. We foolishly didn’t realize that one of the sides of the mat has a gradient at the edge ( it’s not perfectly square on one side) and when we did the cut we had used the side with the small gradient. The reason the back side of the tank is compressed more is because of that gradient.

That is too much sag for my liking. I would not feel comfortable with that even in the relatively short term. I have the same tank. I used a treadmill mat on mine. A little more dense than a yoga mat and about 1/16” thicker.

2.5 on one side , 2.25 on the other .
and there is another measurement of 2.375
That’s 1/4” difference … depending on the size it might be ok but I personally wouldn’t leave it

The tank is 60”x24”x24”. The glass is 7/16” think. It is eurobraced and it has a bottom brace.

I just filled it yesterday. Do you think it could wait until the weekend or should it be fixed immediately.

I would empty it enough to be able to lift and shim it to be level .

Drain now, fix soon. Sitting empty won’t hurt it but that’s not how I would want it long term.

Can’t necessarily drain now considering I have live stock in the tank.

Yeah this weekend should be fine. I would recheck level with it empty. Can we see a picture of the support foam you used? It sounds like a new foam leveling mat may be in order. I know that can be a real pain

This is the mat I used. The problem is with the edge. It’s not square. Since one side is thinner than the other it’s compressed more on the thinner side. *facepalm*

It’s absolutely uneven compression going on. 100% replace the insulation mat with something more like a yoga mat and you’ll be good to go
