What kind of skimmer are you using?

Do you have the cover for it? You'll need it for proper operation. To adjust it correctly take the cup off and slowly adjust the level of the foam to look like this pic. Then put the cup back on

You'll end up getting salt splattering all over and foam building up and spilling out without the lid. I'd recommend trying to get a replacement to avoid a mess

That needs to be dialed way down imo, try to get the large bubbles to start at the bottom of the neck

The lid, yes, but your water level is too high. Take the cup off and adjust it like the pic I posted above. Make tiny adjustments to the valve and wait for the level to stabilize until you try to adjust it again

dang.. see I understand the science behind a protein skimmer I just have no clue about how it runs and how it's supposed to run

No problem, when you look at it tomorrow you'll be happy. Sometimes it'll pull more out and sometimes less depending on what is in the water
