Question about pump psk200

I have a psk2500 that I need to switch the venturi portion of my old psk 2500 to. I cannot seem to get the bottom part off for either of them. The new or the old. It looks like it turns. I saw a video where he used rubber handles to turn it. But I can't get either to turn and I don't want to break them. I can't find a users manual. Any tips?

You mean the volute cover?

They can definitely be super stiff but it rotates counter clockwise ( plier handles do work well to grab onto those fins) and as it turns it will push outward because of the pitched grooves around the outside.
