I have a new, 3 month old reef tank, plenty of soft corals, 2 clowns, damsel, emerald crabs, clean up crew etc., tank doing fine. 46 gallon bowfront. I also have a coral banded shrimp. My wife wants a fire shrimp and I'm happy to get it because it keeps her interested in the tank, lol. Problem is I'm just not sure the coral banded and the fire shrimp will get along? Some places I've read say yes, some say no. LFS says its perfectly fine. The fire shrimp is $45 so I hate to get one and have it killed, or maimed etc,.

Anyone have any experience with this problem and what do people recommend.

Bump for those who mix them.

I think you've hit the key points. It's a bit of a gamble.
