My husband and I are new to saltwater tanks so bare with me please.
He brought home a blue tang and it brought ich...yay.
So now I have set up at QT tank. The parameters are good and it is ready to go...with one exception.
I added copper to the tank to treat the ich and have not added the fish yet. It's been 2 days since I added the copper, but I am not seeing any changes on the test kit. I am using the API Cu+ test kit. I know that I am supposed to look down the tube instead of just at it.
So my question is...
How long after adding the copper should it be registering to read? OR is there a better kit to use?

Only good thing out of this situation is he now believes me that ALL fish must be quarantined before added to the tank.

I used Kordon safe Copper-aid. Should I use the Seachems Cupramine instead? I just got what the guy that runs the local saltwater place suggested.
