I'm from another Forum, and I was curious about what can be discussed concerning someone or a vendor selling something.

The other forum only allows people to post positive -only statements (unless you are in "elite"). For example, if someone is selling something and it is used, and they are trying to sell it at new retail prices and you make a comment stating that seems to be the case and not being rude. Topic is locked.

Yet, the only question I asked the vendor selling the item is that it was used at new prices...

Next, I asked the forum in off-topic that I did not understand what the difference is between posting positive or negative. It seems that you can say, " Get this now!" "This is a great DEAL!" etc. Just don't question the opposite.

So, I posted a sale of my own with an inflated price and a little humor. I did intend to sell the aquarium as well. Yet, sure enough it is attacked.

What I am basically asking is, can you post questions about items for sale including price without everyone going into a panic?

If you have a problem with price PM the person selling it.

There will be no panic.... If the posts is deemed as attacking the seller, you posting the same item for sale cheaper in the OP thread, etc, your post will be removed

I don't see any problems with you asking specifics about the item that is being sold.

I mean something like, "Why is the price so high?" This can be taken to PM. Comments on For Sale Threads are looked at on a case to case basis. If we determine the comment has no benefit to the sale of that item, we will remove the post.

I think this concept works only with "mature" people. Which R2R seems to have this all under control.

On a number of sites the mob tends to form when someone sells something slightly too high. Instead of simply saying good luck but you are asking too much, they have to throw out the insults and make an example out of the seller.

From what I have noticed people seem to like to cause trouble on peoples f/s threads with their wise a** comments, I guess it makes their evening more exciting who knows. I tend to think of these people as this:

Thanks for the Reply, MikeB.

That makes sense. I just wanted to make sure that it was allowable to question something such as typical item as a PowerHead that may sell for $50 new and is being sold used for 6months or so at the same price without having to take it to PMs.
In that way, other members could be aware of it as well especially some poeple that may not have alot of knowledge. Not in a challenging or rude way and not naming any competition ie other Vendors but only in a very general way.

AS I was saying in my reply above:

You can always PM an offer if you think the price is to high..

Pretty much what he was told in the other forum.

Oh, an "asking" price or a OBO is just that. Speaks for itself actually!

Info given, thread closed. Thanks.
