I use a Milwaukee digital refractor and it says to read the salinity at 77 degrees. My question is would it be better to read the salinity at the temperature that the tank is kept at instead of 77 degrees

If you are using the MA887:

then it should read the same regardless of temperature in the range you would encounter:

  • Temperature Compensation: Automatic between 10 and 40°C / 50 to 104°F

That is good to know so don’t have to take as much time to try to keep the temperature at 77 degrees

IF YOU HAD TO TAKE A REEFING EXAM, WOULD YOU PASS?
