I'm putting together a new 75g reef tank and in the process of buying dry rock and sand. I'm buying the rock from BRS as I really like their reef saver rock. Where is a good place to buy sand? I see on marcorocks.com they seem to have a pretty good deal, but I'm confused about the difference between these two products:

20Lb Bahama Aragonite sand for $29.95
40Lb Bahama Aragonite sand for $29.95

(here is link)

It seems to be the same product except you get twice the sand for the same price ? What is the difference? I'm sure I'm missing something here.

My other question would be how much sand do I need for about a 1-1.5" sandbed in a 75g tank? I was about to order 80lbs of sand, would that be enough or would 40lbs do?

Thanks!!

Hi,
Our 40Lb ships in a USPS large priority box
it is roughly .5cu ft.
So you can expect to get 2.5-3" / 2 sq ft of tank bottom.
Assuming you have a standard 48"x18" 75, you are at 5 sq ft
Two boxes will get you right about at 1" and if you have a reef ready tank closer to 1.5".

There is no difference between the 20 and the 40 lb box.
Order 40 and you get 40 order 20 and you get 40.
for some strange reason every time we take the 20s off the site we get complaints so they stay.

Thanks for the clarification!
