I've got a trade with about 5 different frags going out. It's such a pain to put each tiny frag in an individual bag. Can I use a hybrid of the damp and traditional shipping method by:

1) Wrapping each frag loosely in a damp paper towel to keep them from getting damaged

2) Place all the paper towels in one bag so I've got all 5-6 frags in one bag

3) Cover all the towels with water to keep everything wet

I'm trying to figure out why this might not work. It would save me a LOT of bags and weight on water ($). I'm shipping this afternoon, so please chime in!

Yeah... Not really.

The question is whether multiple rolls can safely be put in the SAME bag and whether it's OK to submerge them in water, since I'm not sure I want to do the damp method.

No man dont do it!!

I had like a $300 zoa shipment of exotics coming to me and the guy shipped this exact way. It seems that one of the frags croaked and set off a chain reaction. The whole shipment was lost.

Well he reshipped the whole shipment the very same way, and we lost them all again! I told him to just forget it.

Many, many of you would know who this is and he's a micro king and has shipped thousands of times. He knew what he was doing...or he thought....I am pretty sure he told me he wasnt going to ship like this anymore.

Depending on where you are shipping to, I might stay around from the damp methed. I know here it is like 30 degrees. The water will act like more of a temp buffer than the papertowel. I would hesitate to put several frags in the same bag though.

Thanks Rev and patedship. That's exactly the feedback I needed. I'll be sticking to the proven traditional method...

Become one with the frags, love putting them each into their own protective womb for the journey. While they may co-exist, they may not want to make sweet love in the bags together. Instead, let them wonder alone what wonderful world awaits them at the end of the road. At around 1/5 a cent per bag, allow them this expenditure as your final farewell gift.

Ok, heading to get the prescrtiption filled :hammer:

Peace, B

OMG that was awesome for a nice laugh tis morning!

I say don't' do it also, as the paper towel will break down if it is completely submerged in water....that will create a big mess as well....

WOW! Bryan, hurry and get it filled before you truly go off the deep end. I was starting to get aroused....LOL.
