Question about Slate

Hi all, I will be setting up a 75 gallon tank over the Christmas season, and I was wondering if I could use slate in the saltwater tank to make ledges and caves.

I know that some clownfish breeders use slate for clowns to spawn on. So I wouldn't think there is anything wrong with using it.

I've got to believe there is no issue with slate. The tanks I had in the 60's had slate bottoms (with chromed corner framing). Those were the days.
