Question about Spectracide Stump Remover dosing

I did use the calculator and 10 grams should equate to 8.1 ppm in a 200 gallon tank so the reading in one gallon should be off the charts. Oddly enough I am seeing my tank measurements increase and finally getting some green algae but the solution in my 1 gallon bucket doesn't register. Side note never thought I would be happy to see green algae except when it replaces brown diatoms.

Probably something I'm missing maybe it needs to be mixed with salt water? My whole purpose of this exercise was to see the cost effectiveness of various approaches.

I don't know if that kits needs salt water or not,. it might.

Did you try it? Did it work?. I have been adding 1/2 teaspoon of stump remover a day for 2 days in a 75 gal. Display tank. I have not seen any difference. I'm scared to add to much.

How many gallon tank is this mixture good for? I was told 1/2 teaspoon per 75 gallon tank. I am on my 2nd day of dissolving 1/2 teaspoon into my tank. Nitrates remain 0. Thanks

Sooooo... it was working and I wasn't using my kit properly. It was an API test kit and literally you have to shake the bottle a minute in order for the solution to get mixed and have it work properly. Once I got a different kit I measured 90 ppm and GHA everywhere 2 dead fish. Not good. Sodium nitrate is better though and I use about 3 grams a week now to stay at 10ppm.
