Question about t5

I have a 36" t5/led hybrid light right now. I am considering selling it and just going with an 8 bulb ati as i dont really need the led's.

My question is will i also be able to use the 36" light on a 48" tank?? I like the idea of upgrading to a 4 foot tank eventually, something like the 120 fatboy or even something similar to the elos 120xl dimensions (48x30x20) or thereabouts.

You can do anything you want, but the sides will be a little dark. Here's a quick pick of my 72g with 24" t5 and 32" rb leds

Excuse the algae mess this was a "temp tank that was a qt then just kind of kept getting more coral so i don't even know why I'm running it" tank.

Lol yes i understand you can do anything, i was more so asking if it is a good idea or if it wont really work that well

I think a 36" 8 bulb T5 fixture over a 48" tank would allow more flexibility with lower light corals like acans, brains and zoas on the outer edges of the tank.

Also, gimme a heads up if you want to move Dave's light.

The light is great, Just more than i need as i am not going full sps like i planned. And as cool as LED's are i never run them over 35% so i think maybe someone else would get more use out of it. Im still playing with the idea of selling or just keeping it lol but if i decide to selll ill shoot ya a pm
