I am about to downgrade from a 56 tall back down to a 20 gallon long. I move a bit and it would be easier to move something smaller, plus I had a lot of success with my last 20 long. I am using the money I get selling my setup to get an aquaillumination Hydra led fixture and was wondering if this would be too much light? I was going to get the maxspect razor fixture but my wife seen the lightning show the hydra can do and she wants that one (it's a lot easier spending the money when the wife is on board)

My question is, a guy at the LFS says it would be too much light but can't you dial it down to what you want? I wanted some opinions from you fine folks. Please help me out. I just deal with softies right now but when I branch out in the future I want to already have the right lighting for it. The tank is 30 inches long and 12 inches high I do believe.

Thank you guys and girls!

You'll be fine with that unit, its 95watts at full power, no need to run it up there until you need it.

Moved to current forum: Equipment.

I don't think it is necessarily too much light.
