This isn't really a problem, but I know my water clarity should be better. It seems like I have a constant stream of micro bubbles coming from my sump and was wondering what I could do to eliminate it.

Welcome to Reef 2 Reef

Are you running a new protein skimmer in your sump?

The skimmer is new. only been running for three weeks and I'm not sure what baffles are so I couldn't say.

Baffles:
Do you have divers to block the micro-bubbles in your sump to stop them from making it back into your display tank?

If your have a new setup and new skimmer the micro-bubbles could settle down after awhile. A new setup is low in organics and a new skimmer can take awhile to break in and it can spew out mirco-bubbles during the break in period.

If you turn off your skimmer does the micro-bubbles go away?

It could be the skimmer, but at 3 weeks it should have settled in. One of the things my LFS told me to do when I set my 90 gallon up was to add some rubble rock to the baffle section between my skimmer and the return pump. I can't say for sure whether or not the rubble rock is helping, since I have never run my sump without it but I sure don't have any microbubles.

I'll have to tun off the skimmer when I get home from work and see if it stops.
