Opinions needed. On my new Waterbox 145.5 Frag Aquarium I am thinking of making it a reef / frag aquarium. Originally I built a frag rack with black egg crate that covered all of the aquarium except approx. 6 inches on each side and in the front. That's a lot of frags. It's not my intention to grow n sell frags but just like the looks of a lot of different frags like at the LFS. So now I'm thinking of having the frag rack in the middle of the tank (approx 22" x 16") leaving approx 20" on each side of the frag rack. On each side I want to do rock sculpture with some nice established corals. Do y'all think this would look good? Build thread coming soon

I should have mentioned that we have a reefer 525xl and two max Nanos. The reefer has some corals that can be fragged and one of the Nanos have rock flower anemones and mushrooms that are multiplying like crazy.

I plan on buying a frag tank and using it as a reef tank in the future. I love the low profile look of frag tanks. Why don’t you try it and see if it looks good. You can always change it.

I built a 165 the same way you are thinking. I built two NSA rock structures with frag rack built into one and plan on normal racks for the rest

Kinda hard to see but it turned out well. I'm going to redo the layout soon to get more frag space
