Question....DI Resing Color - Recharg?

I recently changed out my color changing DI resin. I dumped the old resin beads in a bucket and left it lightly covered outside. I was going to throw it away but forgot and it sat outside for 4 days. The water evaporated and about 80% of the beads turned back to the original color. Is the color accurate? Could they have somehow recharged by the water evaporating?

I believe the color change dye has to be wet to work. Either way the beads do not recharge.

DI resin can be recharged, but it’s a bit of a process. I believe the dye isn’t much more than a pH indicator, so who knows what happens to the pH as things in the bucket dried up.
