I’m running reefi duos on a 24” deep tank. I have placed several Acro frags on top left rock which is the upper 3/4 of my tank. My question is should I adjust the lights to get a surface reding of xxx or adjust the lights to get a reading of xxx at the rocks? Right now they are adjusted for 300 +\- 50 PAR at the top surface of the rocks. Just under the water water surface I am getting 500 +\- 50 And lastly on the floor I’m getting 150 +\- 50. I’m using the apogee 520 sensor to get these readings. Should I dial them back? Or does this sound like a good start?

If your corals are new to your system and you do not know the PAR from which they came, it is usually better to start lower and ramp up over a couple of weeks. Those PAR numbers are spot-on for most SPS. Be aware, flow and placement front to back can have an impact on growth and coloration as well.

Thanks, it’s definitely not at full power now, those numbers are the end state and it’s still acclimating. I’m just reading so many articles and posts with different ideas on PAR settings it’s confusing.
