Question for Bubble magus mini Q skimmer owners

I've got a question for Bubble magus mini Q skimmer owners.
How low can Bubble magus mini Q skimmer hang?
I'm looking for a skimmer for my AIO and mini Q is a candidate but since the water level in my skimmer chamber is low, I was wondering if the hanger on this will allow it to go down to the depth I want it to. The water level in the skimmer chamber from the top edge of the glass is about 9cm (3.54 inches) vertically. Can I get it to the desired depth or should I start looking for one of those magnet hang skimmers?

I thought about that too but I think it'd be too much trouble. If I had waterproofed magnets laying around maybe but those are hard to get for cheap where I live.

Just to simplify the question a little more, what I want to know is the maximum distance between the red arrows (hopefully it is close to 9cm (3.54 inches) or higher). Where the bracket hangs and the marked water level.

So I'm looking over this skimmer and its impossible to figure out where the air comes in... Theres definitely intakes for the pump at the bottom, so maybe we need to just hook up to one of those inlets, but idk. I'm working on it today. I'll let you know if I figure something out!

I think the air can come in both around the valve adjustment knob and where the cord comes in at top as well as along the front between cup and body. About the only option would be to add an air inlet that you could connect air tubing and pump in enough air in to create positive pressure. You could drill a hole around the air silencer, visible where the cord enters at top, and add an air inlet nipple. Air would be constantly leaking, so you'd have to pump enough in to account for that.

I think the water level mark should be treated as the maximum level. I have one of these on a sump with the water level a little higher than the pump at the bottom. I’d probably get better performance if sitting a half inch lower in the water, but it produces a nice dry skim. I have 3 of these and all work best for me when the water level is well below that line. Harder to get dark skim when the water level is near that line.

I have 3 of these and the max water level mark can be as low as 2.5-2.75” below the rim/ hanger. If you look up pics of this skimmer you’ll see the water level mark height varies a fair bit. But it works better for me when lower than that. You can have the water level as low as 5.25” below rim/ hanger and that still works for me.
