I'm getting read to select my lighting for my 365 G SPS reef tank (96"L x 34"W x 26"H). I know I want to use a combo of T5 lighjts and LED. I have already purchased 2 48" Dimmable ATI SunPower 8 bulb fixtures and now deciding between Kessil A360x or Mitras LX7206's. This has been a PITA decision - way to to much time agonizing over this. But here I am looking for more info. So here are my questions for those of you using Mitras:
1) Do any of you use Mitras in combination with T5's. If so has that turnout to be a winning combo for you? Pro's/Con's
2) I read that programming the Mitras is a bit of a pain, i.e., you need to use your PC for easiest initial setup. Is this true or has Mitras made the software easier to use with iPhone/iPad?
3) How has support been given these lights come-out of Germany? Anyone had difficulties in getting timely replacement parts or telephone support?
4) It appears these don't work with APEX system - just confirming, true?
5) Some users have reported the lights producing a "flat look". I'm guessing this means no shimmer. Thoughts on this? I do like some shimmer which is probably the only reason I'm even considering the Kessil's.
6) Do you use the light composer library to do your initial setup? is that library helpful?
7) and finally most important question....has growth been better, worse or ok from what you originally anticipated?

Thanks

thanks for trying to drum-up some help :) either the community the Mirtas is very small (which is quite informative) or folks are just busy right now and hopefully I'll still get some helpful info.

Reach out to Jim on IG or scroll through here; He runs 7206's with a light bar and also uses a true spectrometer for setting up and testing lights. He has files to replicate Coral Lab AB+ too if that's what you're looking for.

thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I'll take a look at the youtube link tonight when I get home - sadly I can't do that from work

Thanks, @paja3. @Karliefish ... did you get your answers? I can comment directly if you'd like, but I didn't want to duplicate what you've already captured. I've been running two 7206 fixtures for a while now. Most recently discussed here:

Jim

The video only provided me with very limited information so any of the questions from my post that you would be willing to answer would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.

1. I'm so not a T5 guy, but I have mounted LED bar sidekicks with the Mitras LX7s. I run two AliExpress 470nm bars with the GHL lights. Same as Reef Breeders (but less expensive), similar to the well built Orphek (and way less expensive) and way more bang for the buck than the awesome spread/low PAR/crazy expensive Reef Brites XHOs. The AliE bars can be ordered at custom spectrums from the manufacturer.

2. Mobile setup is easy. Period. You can use a computer with the GHL Control Center software, a web browser on any computer or the GHL Connect app for mobile. Follow the directions.

3. US support comes from the US, and US support (if you need it) is very responsive. I'd be blown away if the US team doesn't already know this thread exists.

4. There is no APEX control option, and there's no need. The GHL Connect access from anywhere there's internet access works perfectly. Does the APEX work with the Gen 4 and Gen 5 Radions with the Mobius firmware? I don't know that answer.

5. There's shimmer and it's not flat. I've shared spectrum and settings that recreate well the Radion's AB+. The A360x will be half the available power and, based on BRS' testing, less spread.

6. I didn't use the library, as I used the UPRtek spectrometer to create my own spectrum. I did use Composer to create my settings, and I've since published those settings. Others have used my library files.

7. Photons are photons. I have Ecotech over my display and GHL over my connected frag tank. Growth is the same. The difference, if it matters to you, is that GHL emits legitimate UV. The Radion's lower spectrum is violet. I get better color in the frag tank, but that's totally subjective.

That help?
