Question for Radion XR15W Owners

I just bought a G4 XR15W pro to replace my Kessil. I need to work up a mount for it to mate up with my existing setup, but I set it up on EcosmartLive and held it up over the tank at about 9" over the water and.... I was not happy with what I saw. Rainbows everywhere. I could literally see every individual color LED.

Please someone tell me I did something wrong and I didn't just blow $400....Am I missing something?

I have 4 G4 Pros over my tank mounted 17" off the water and I don't have any problems with disco effect.
Hanging high will give you better spread. They also have a new diffuser coming out.

Thanks for that. I'll try different mounting heights once I rig it up. I put it at about 10" and it was pretty bad still. I'll try up high. I bought an RMS mounting bracket that I'm going to modify to fit my existing light rail. It arrives today. I saw that BRS story about the diffuser. I'm really excited for that. (Hoping it isn't an expensive add on)

EDIT: Are you running one of their existing templates? It seems a lot of people use AB+. It looked pretty blue to me, but that's coming from a Kessil perspective...

I thought the kessils were pretty blue?
But ya, I run the AB+.
For awhile I ran AB+ but for an hour or two in the evening I shifted the curve to be a bit more white. But I guess I got used to the color and don't do that anymore.

They sure can be very blue. Windex level, even. At around 55-60% color they're a crisp white. That's where I run mine.

I guess I'll give it a chance to get used to it.

I've owned both. The disco effect is pretty apparent if you're coming from a kessil. The kessil has zero disco ball, and my radions always had disco. And yes the AB+ is more blue than kessil as well.

I had six xr30 G4 pro over my tank. The spread was Fantastic but still had disco ball. You'll have to get used to it.

Seems like EcoTech XR15W G4 Pro get sold a lot. Any pro and cons? I have seen the Kessil but those have bad reviews also for burning out. Not sure but seems crazy. Thoughts?

The diffuser remove the disco effect at any height, I added them to my 2 xr 30 gen 3 pro and love it
