question for the chemistry experts from a newbie

Hi Everyone,

I bought a gallon of hydrogen perioxide that's 35% by volume and I want to use it to clean GHA off some of my rocks. Question is how much can I dilute down this 35% concentration to get the most use out of it and still accomplish the task of killing the GHA?

any other tips are greatly appreciated.

Personally I use 3% hydrogen peroxide and dilute it 1 to 4 tank water. I dip for about five minutes, rinse in saltwater and put back in the tank. So let's say, it's 1% that I use. I've had great success with zoas doing this; actually seems like a vitamin to the zoas.

I dont know the limit to kill hair algae, but I'd advise you to be careful with such concentrated hydrogen peroxide. It can be dangerous on mucous membranes.

Personally, I'd just scrub the rocks with a brush if hair algae is the only concern.

I pull the rock out of the tank and flood area with algae in straight peroxide and give a quick scrub with tooth brush then flood again and return to tank and the algae has not returned to those spots works great
