So I am dosing half of my ph. In the day, and the other half at night. I checked it midway through, and it is at the perfect level. Do I dose the other half, or let it ride? I check my ph, daily, and I have been on the same dosing regiment for six months now. And for the most part the p.h has been maintained at 8.6-9.6. I was surprised to see that the ALK is on the higher end of this spectrum, with only dosing a half dose of my standard regiment. Just curious, I assumed it would be at the lower end. The only thing I did different was yesterday when I checked at night, It was around 8, which is to low for my normal. so I added 6ml of 2 part extra, I normally dose at 32ml daily. I have added extra before, and did not think it was an issue, today ALK was up to 9 with only a half dose so far. I at one point had a few of my sps get ****** and pale out for a couple weeks awhile ago. I am wondering if adding that extra when my ph is a little low is spiking it that much? Help an chemistry idiot please. Mg. is 1,500, calcium is usually around 420-450. The only other thing that was changed. Was the light exposure was shortend by an hour do to time change by accident.i

Just tested again several hours later, it now dropped back to 8...***

I'm confused as to what you mean by p.h.?
If you mean pH, you should not dose anything based on pH alone. Also, 8.6 to 9.6 is not a suitable pH range, but is a fine dKH (alkalinity) range.
Can you detail what brand of what exactly you have been dosing?
