Question For The Tang Police

All good advice above with some reasonable choices given on Tang groups. I to have a 125g (60"x24"x20") currently with five Tangs. A 6+" Blochii, 5.5" Naso, 4.5" Powder Blue, 3" Kole and 2.5" Yellow.... I am looking for a new home for the Blochii and will be upgrading to at least a 8' 300g or larger in next year so can keep Naso, Powder Blue and add a few new ones to the mix. A pic and short vid from last July ? the noise from my old MP-40 I ditched and before some substantial re-aquascaping.

Skip the Naso and hippo, which seems like you did already...the kole tang will draw aggression from the purple eventually since they are similar shape and colored as well. Purple tangs are down right mean so add him very last, kole tangs are really passive if you go that route add him first. If you want to be fully void of aggression look at maybe something like a powder tang, purple or kole tang, and a mimic tang of some type. Then you could have three different colors and shapes. You are one of the few people I've seen ask for tang advice and listen to and weigh all of the advice you get...I give you much props.

Thanks for the advice bct....I want the charm and beauty of tangs in my tank, but the last thing I want to do is cause conditions for them to get ich....I may narrow it down to 2 if necessary

I think you should take a look at the Scopas tang, at first glance he looks a bit dull, but boy oh boy do they have amazing patterns all over their bodies; they aren't the largest of tangs, are generally peaceful, and best of all can hold their own against an aggressor. Mine fought off a pair of full sized tomato clowns and made them his %#^$@!*.

Thanks Cheese....if putting two tangs with similar body shapes is a no-no, I think I would rather have the purple tang, although I do agree with you they are very nice....Sal
