So I wanted to get some thoughts from folks here about using natural lighting for a reef tank. I was THINKING about building a skylight in my house, (When I upgrade in the future) directly over the tank so natural sunlight will shine in it. I will build it and create enough reflection to have it shine all day at about an equal amount of sunlight during the natural daylight hours.
Thoughts?

Can’t tell you anything about how that would relate to a tank since it is mostly reflected light. From a personal experience I have 2 in my house on the north end. Brand was Velux Solar Tube and am very happy with them. One is in the hall by the garage other is in the laundry room. No need to turn on lights during the day. Have been in the laundry room on a bright full moon night and able to find what I wanted on the pantry shelf with no extra lighting.
