Question on dynamite Chalice(Rainbow type)

If i get a frag like this. only little red.

Can it grow to more red, like this?

Which conditions will make it more red?

For extremly case, If i get one eye without any red, how does it grow like?

Please share your experience, thank you!

A piece that is all blue can grow red in but normally it takes along time. I would not buy a frag like the top hoping it will grow out like the bottom because 99.9% it wont. There is no known conditions that will bring out more red unless you are taking about making current red more vibrent.

Those are not the same chalices, but there is no scientific studies on how to make/promote specific zooxanthellae in corals. If we did we would have nothing but rainbow corals.

If you going to buy a rainbow. make sure the frag have all the colors that the mother colonies have,

its the same animal but the color shifts (red to blue or blue to red) are not so very often but sure there will be color shifts .. so lets say you get a frag of the all blue part it would look like that second pic when it grows to that size which normally takes about couple of years.

IMO, Frags of single color rainbow chalice are relatively cheaper than the one with all colors. but all it comes down is the preference of the buyer. i for one love the blue more than red on a rainbow chalice but all colors is AwesomER.

Just saying if you buy a rainbow it better look like a rainbow. why buy a rainbow only have one or two colors. you going to wait for a few year down the road to enjoy it. how you going to show off your rainbow all blue.
