my GSP is not opening like it use too...i did notice that it has some algae on it or it looks like it has algae on it. i have it placed almost on the bottom.. can someone try and help me

Honestly, softies like GSP just don't do well in low nutrient/nitrate/phosphate tanks. Mine have always done best in dirty tanks. I tried to grow some GSP on a "rock island" in my 120 gal SPS reef that had parameters similar to yours. I thought I had actually killed the stuff. Took that same rock and moved it into a 57 gal mixed reef with elevated nitrates/phosphates, and it spread like crazy.
As a longtime softy keeper, this has just been my experience. As always, opinions may vary.

Algae is very bad for GSP it prevents them from coming out of their tube.
