Is it ok to replace some of my live rock with dry rock in an established tank. I want to re-aquascape my tank I have about 80lbs of established live rock and want to see if I could at least replace half of it with reef saver dry rock.

I personally would cure it all before swapping out half of the rock. But I think if you did a small amount over a longer period of time you would be just fine.

Put the removed live rock in your sump while the dry rock gets established.

In additional to the sump idea, I would also recommend you reach out to local reefers to see if anyone would be interesting in some of that live rock from you.

...or use it to setup another tank and skip cycle. :D

Thank you all for your advice I just overthought the process your all completely right

I know this is an old thread but you have to recure it just like i am doing currently with about 100 lbs of some old Marshall Island and Tonga Branches.
