hello,

I've noticed that the NG have a very poor feeding response compared to the PD... Has anyone noticed if they prefer certain foods or a different feeding technique? I'm hand feeding mysis shrimp with tweezers once a day. The PDs' seem to gobble it up while the food just sits on the partially closed NG....

What kind of lighting/water flow have you found that they like?

Thanks for any help!

Brett

I have my Nukes about 14 inches directly under a 20K XM 150 with light to moderate flow. It started with 1 polyp about 2 months ago now I have 3 polyps. I target feed mine 1 or 2 x per week. I make a mix of mysis, cyclopeeze, and brine (mysis and brine frozen but thawed) and squirt the polyps lightly with a baster. The polyps close up on the food immediately and stay closed for 10-15 minutes while ingesting the food. HTH.

they eat both mysis and cyclopeeze with gusto, though only the larger polyps can swallow whole mysis

Thanks guys! I'll try some cyclopeeze also... Maybe they are still adjusting to my tank.

Expected growth on these seems slow...bummer

they grow pretty fast for me, i got 5 polyps back in the summer, i have a plug with about a dozen on it, and i have sent off about 10 polyps and have about 5 more in other frags
