Question on plumbing for reef ready dual overflow

Thoughts for a reef ready dual corner overflow. 1inch drain and 3/4 return in each side. I don’t want to go durso and I want flush against wall so no over the back return.
I’m considering two options. A) being dtill another 1 inch hole in each corner to have drain, emergency and return on either side.
also consider option B, but I don’t know if there are any negatives to it. Having two main drains, one on either side. Have an emergency on one side , and a return on the other. No extra drilling. Anyone ever try this with success or failure ? If success would you run a pipe across the back to have duck bills on each side.
Any other recommendations?

I would set it up as a bean animal with a singe return. Basically a full siphon and trickle drain on one side and an emergency drain and return on the other. I believe this is what a lot of people do with the dual corner overflow tanks. Will also be very silent this way

Won’t there be stagnated water on one side this way though

There likely isn’t adequate space in the bottom of each overflow to safely add another hole. Your best bet is probably siphon plus return on side and siphon plus open channel on the other.

Ahh yes, you’re right. It’d have to be a full siphon and an emergency on one side and the trickle and return on the other that way both overflows would be actively moving water into the sump and nothing would stagnate much.
