Question on pump purchase

I bought a pump from a member on another reef site on septemeber first. He told me it was barely used and it really looked that way. When i showed up i purchased some frags and the pump and before i left he asked me if i wanted to test it and i told him no.3 days later he texted me and asked how the pump was running and i told him i didnt hook it up yet that i was doing it on the weekend. well i didnt hook it up that weekend. I put the pump in the closet and took it out today which is a month and 21 days later to hook it up and the pump didnt work to its potential. the impellar ran fine then it slowed up and was not moving water. should i call him and ask for my money back or do i eat it

id say if the person was a friend or a really honest nice person id ask for the money back. The way i like to treat stuff like this is what if the shoe was on the other foot. If some one called you nearly 2 months after you sold a pump to them and said its not working, would YOU give them there money back? I would let the person know and not ask right out for your money back and maybe he will offer money back or somthing. just m y .02. good luck
