Hi all,

I just got a Radion XR30 Pro and mounted it with the RMS mount. I have a innovative marine 20g Peninsula, so I used the longest possible length of railing. The problem I have is the amount of tilt and with this, I am afraid of the pressure it is causing on the seams of my tank. What do you think? I may move the mount to the back side and use a shorter rail.

Thanks!

Should be fine. It's putting compressive pressure on the seams, which shouldn't be an issue. I think it's better on the shorter piece of glass rather than the longer on in the back. You could always get another arm and do the rail across mount.

Are you sure your rail to arm screw is tight? It almost looks like that's where the tilt is coming from.

Thanks for the reply. I almost couldn’t sleep last night because of this. I may look into adding another arm with the rail across mount.

I am almost certain it is as tight as it can be but I will try to tighten it more tonight.

Looking at the glass thickness in the first picture, there's no way any of that flexure is from the glass. Mine also tilts a little like that and I just have an XR15w and a medium rail. I actually like the tilt when it's front to back, since I can then put the light a little more forward with light directed towards the rear.

I actually went ahead and ordered the rail mount and will swap it out. I’m curious to see if the light will have any tilt after I install that.
