Question on the jebao wavemaker

Does anyone know if the Jebao wavemaker can have the dry side magnet in water? Will it rust? Thanks!

It can get wet, but I would not place it in a tank to hold the pump in place long term. If you do want to try it though, I would put it in a waterproof bag first. Of course, you need to be sure the bag doesn't contain anything that will break down or release chemicals into the tank. My first thought is to try one of those waterproof pouches you can put a cell phone in, but I don't have any idea what they are made of or if they are "tank safe".

You could probably coat it in aquarium-safe silicone or epoxy, but I've never attempted this and don't know how it would affect the strength of the magnet

I would not put it in the water. Less magnets in the water the better imo

OP. I have the same thought with using an MLW on the back wall of my AIO tank. Curious if you tried this out and what were the results?
