Question on Toadstool Leather

I have had this Toadstool for over 6 months and in the last 2 or3 days it is not opening.... Please help

phos - 0

calcium -440 (has been 440 for months)

Likely shedding. Give it a few days and see if it opens back up. Leathers do that from time to time.

Leathers and other Sarcophyton will develop a waxy coating, the coral will occasionally shed the coating to remove detritus and algae. It may take several days for the coral to shed, sometimes increasing flow to the area is of assistance.

I occasionally use a turkey baster to blow mine off here and there. Seems to keep it open more. Mine never closes more than a few hours now.

Mine does this all the time. I have two stalks right next to each other and one sometimes closes for days and then looks fine.

you will be fine, like said previously its getting ready to shed. you should be very excited they come back looking even better. mine hasnt shedded in months. gratz
