I showed above that 297 grams NaHCO3 in a gallon boosts alk by 3,530 meq/L.

The 0.318 grams is a factor of 0.318/297 = 0.00107 times what I calculated, or 0.00107 x 934 meq/L (my calculation above) = 1.00 meq/L.
