Lately I have noticed a growing colony of what seems to be hydroids, but I'm not sure what they are. Could anybody help me ID them?

They have little brown rods and a green circle with little brown tentacles.

Thanks!

You are correct, colonial hydroids. you will want to get them out before they spread. If you can take the rock out you can chip the rock they are attached to and get rid of them.

I have had those identical hydroids for over a decade and they have never ever even come remotely close to being invasive. The clove polyps or sympodium are a whole other ball game though.

I agree. We had colonial hydroids take over a rock very quickly. We fed heavy so I'm sure that didn't help. Every tank is different and to the OP, I'd get them out.
