I have a 30 gallon established been set up for a long time. I have a 300g stock tank I'm going to put water in. IF i add 100g of new water to my stock tank and EVERYTHING in my 30g rock, sand, water you think ill see a cycle in the stock tank?

You might get a tiny cycle just from nutrients that might get stirred up but it shouldn't be bad.

ok thanks, that's kinda what I thought. I'm an idiot and bought a 6 inch chevron tonight. ill be getting it Tuesday, want to have the stock tank ready for him 69 bucks so I couldn't resist.

Your only putting 100g plus 30g in a 300g tank?

I would say be careful with moving sand as that can create issues and are you sure your not going to want more liverock for the bigger tank

its a Rubbermaid stock tank, its only temporary until I get my 480 gallon Display Tank in a few weeks. I'm not going to move the sand I decided. Only the rocks. Yes eventually there will be a lot more rock in it as it going to be acting as my sump to the 480, but this is only temporary for the chevron.
