I would like some help unerstanding these forums. What I don't understand is that I post a thread, and it gets plenty of views. What could be the reasons no one is posting anything? or few reply. I know there is some great knowledge on these boards, and hoping for some replys so that I may learn and improve my tank. I have seen simular threads that seem to get numerous reply read those to gather data. So Please can the board educate me on how I can make better posts so I can get the information I'm looking for.

Thanks

Don’t worry, I don’t get a lot of replies either. Just a few here and there. Mainly, just ask specific questions. However, if it’s a vague question, most people can’t answer it. They’d rather give no advise than bad advise, which is a GOOD thing. We are here to help each other but if we don’t have answers for you, we’d rather not give you bad info. Hope this helps. Have a great week!

Agreed with Mrtakeoff!

I think we have all been there at some time or another. i dont think people are not replying on purpose. R2R is super helpful and probably the best reefing forum out there.

I'd suggest that if you are looking for help to solve an issue, the more information, pictures, and a good description is the most helpful. If someone knows how to answer or able to point you in the right direction, they will.

Like Mrtakeoff said, sometimes its a good thing people dont reply, or they may be unsure of the answer as well.

Good luck AZReef13! I am sure wee will meet again on the forum soon :)!

I can speak for myself... I’m still rather new, so I “check in” on posts... I think I have the right answer but don’t reply as to not steer anyone in the wrong direction. Most times I am right or partially right from reading all the post as most questions or situations are similar and consistent.
I also search a lot of past posts for common answers.
One last thing, I think with all of the “giveaways” having things posted in the forums may also have an effect that pushes your thread lower in the order. You can always go in and reply to post with Bump to get it to the top of the forum...

I will try and do better chiming in when I believe I know an answer but will always defer to a more seasoned reefer.

Thanks all, this makes perfect sense. I will try an do better with more specific questions, and provide better data as well.

Also learned something about what this bump meant.

Thanks again
