So I am looking at getting a mandarin and I’ve seen some pods in my tank recently but I went and ordered a pack of Tisbe pods from pod your reef. How often should I add them to my tank to make this little guy happy? And for QT this guy how should I go about that are they like fish and can get ich or they like invertebrates?

Also my tank is 55 gallons with a 32 gallon sump and have about 60 pounds of live rock in tank and has been running for about 6 months.

IMO with the size of your tank, you will be needing to add pods bi weekly if not weekly. Your tank is still rather young, a single mandarin can eat 1500ish pods a day if i remember correctly. Thats basically a bottle in a day as they literally hunt all day long. I have 2 and still supplement for them monthly in my 120. Half in the DT half in the sump. But before that I had a single one in my 120 and even was still nervous about my pod population. These can be an expensive fish just trying to feed them.
Try to get them to eat frozen asap, add reef roids, garlic, etc anything you know/like that works for getting stubborn fish to eat.

These are my two they hunt together since my method keeps enough pods in the tank for them both to not fight over.

Okay I will have to remember that! I wasn’t able to view your video.

If add pods to fuge if you have one or just tank first. Wait a month or two add another thing of pods. Wait a week or so then add the mandarin. Then continue to supplement as needed until on frozen food.
Also another question do those pods eat algae in the tank??

Sorry about the video seems to happen depending on the format and what browser you are using. But yeah just keep pod up why trying to get it to eat frozen and you should have success. Nothing wrong really with adding to many pods other then when they crowd the glass and no they don't eat algae perse, but they do eat detritus and are apart of your CUC. Now their bigger cousins the amphipod you needa watch out for those suckers will eat zoas if the population goes out of control LOL and with more copepods ive also noticed more amphipods in my tank for some reason haha. Cycle of life i guess lol

I reduced my light an hour and upped my ramp time from one hour to one hour and thirty minutes it seems to be helping.

Unfortunately they aren't that good haha(we can only wish we get a creature like that in the future) If you don't have coral you can go lights out for 3 days and should kill most(i'd also add a little chemiclean or whatever product you see fit) half dose what the box says since you are going lights out and 90 percent of it should be gone, if not all of it. Also stir your sand bed the first 1/4 inch or so(don't go too deep) or find a way to add more flow to those areas so it has less of a chance to build up.

I have coral and I don’t want to let my sps die lol I have two mp40 on the tank and they are running pretty high I believe I have plenty of flow in the tank I recently turned lights down and upped flow so we will see if it gets under control now trying everything first before I add chemicals.
