I bought one thinking it would spread out and encrust onto my rock like a mat...The Acan is a "brain" coral, a type of LPS that builds it's own skeleton.

I like the Cyphastria but my lfs rarely gets them and when he does they get sold fastEncrusting implies calcification. There are several types of encrusting LPS and SPS. Cyphastria is an example of an encrusting LPS , montipora is an SPS that encrusts. I believe Palys and Zoas are related to anenomes They spread but do not lay down a calciferous base.
Don't be afraid to have coral shipped. I do it all the time with great success. And if there is an issue, a good seller will replace or refund.Shipping is what beats me. I mostly like to go to lfs or people near me
