So I still have one black molly, which I believe to be female. I was unfortunately unable to rescue the males and other female before they succumbed to ich/old age. I think she still has at least one brood of fry left. Right now, I'm in the process of changing her from saltwater to freshwater in order to kill off any ich/parasites she may have acquired. If she manages one last batch, will the fry still be suitable for black molly quarantine procedures? Or will the mother having been exposed to saltwater diseases have given them some acquired immunity going forward?

interesting ... I’m gonna stick my neck out and say if she gives birth in fresh, I kinda doubt the fry will have SW ich . ... I mean after all ich is a External bug ... I’m not sure at what SG sw ich can live at

Hmmm, I'm more curious about if the fry will be as susceptible to saltwater ich as the parents were, or if they will instead be less because hte mother had ich before.

I got SW mollies now, they switch back to fresh easier than going fresh to SW .... honestly I’d move/acclimate her to FW/bare bottom for a few weeks and think no more of it
Edited to add: many stickies/write ups on the whole ich cycle thing. interesting read if so inclined
