Questions about frog spawn

Is this a tiny new branch emerging from my frig spawn or a wound or parasite???

* it was hard to get a picture because my clown fish is very photogenic... And kept getting in my shots -_-

Really!!! Jeez!!! We just got the tank 3 weeks ago...yet the things in the tank have been established for three years prior...the original owner said he thought his frog spawn was splitting..it was ...ended up with 4 new head in the 2nd week we had it...I don't notice NY new growth on anything until we topped the tank off with R/O to bring down salinity...the owner prior has never ever fed his corals... Which is crazy in my opinion.. He only fed the clowns 1- 2 times a month.

So I have no idea how everything flourished.. I feel like it was the R/O water....all the dude did was constant water changes...

Since we have had the tank (3 weeks at the most) everything has began splitting....a lot...I have so many hairy mushrooms I'm going crazy...the frog spawn will eventually burn its way into my reef if I don't frag it and sell or trade any....

I think I have high phosphates...my test kit just ran out tho

I should be headed to the reef store soon to get more...any suggestions on how to naturally bring down phosphates?

Water changes would be the most natural, unless you have the capability to setup a refugium. Otherwise GFO in a reactor.

Do not use gfo unless you read a lot on it and test a lot. Gfo can strip a tank of phosphates completely starving your coral.

Don't run gfo on a hunch. It can do more damage than good if used incorrectly. I'd suggest getting a good kit to test first. Congrats on the baby frogspawn
