I have been an avid water changer for a long time. An experienced reefer recently told me that since I wasn't using RO water I might be hurting my aquarium when I do water changes. I am basically fish only but I have soft corals and some Anemones. If my ammonia is under control and there are not signs if stress is it ok to go longer that 2 weeks without water changes?

Secondly I use T5 lighting. I use 3 blues and a white but am looking into going 4 blue. I was told that blue provides more light anyway but someone awhile back said the combo of white and blue is what helps grow coral. Again I have mostly GSP and Kenya. Some nems and Palys. Is all blue ok or should I keep a white? The white seems to grow more nuisance algae.

I just think tap water is a recipe for disaster no matter how many additives you add to it to “neutralize” it. I’m team RODI water all the way.

Yes. Years ago I ran two 180's, two 120's, a 90, a 75 , and a 60. They were FOWLR. I never had any trouble with just tap. Instant Ocean and I did weekly water changes. But guy told me that doing water changes with tap might worsen the stability. My tanks are established. Probably RO is better but its not something I ever did. Maybe I will get a unit when I can. Anyway thread ask was asking if thjnga are stable are water changes needed every two weeks? Seems like no to me.
