So my saltwater tank has been running for a little over a year and most of the corals that I have put in the tank seem to die. I was told that my light was strong enough to penetrate to the bottom of my tank. I have a 150 gallon tank and it's about 30 inches deep. I currently have a Current USA Orbit Marine LED light strip that I was told would suffice, now I am being told different. I was told to purchase two MarsAqua 165W LED lights and hang them above the tank. Can anyone give me some suggestions or let me know if this information is more accurate? I'd hate to spend a lot of money again and then these lights not be sufficient enough either.

The black box led lighting is a big talk right now. Brs just did a video on them last week. Go to there site and check it out. If I was u I would check out SB reef lights. There an upgraded black box.

Thank you for the advice!!

For sure, what you have at the moment isn't good enough... where you could go is a real minefield... imo, set your budget and then think about ongoing costs... if your budget is decent but ongoing costs are the issue, go LED with one of the big brands. If budget is small, but ongoing costs not so much of an issue, then t5 is the way...
Low budget, low ongoing costs... blackbox. Decent budget and not worried about ongoing costs... then go t5 hybrid...

I would get some AI lights. They are fantastic! I been running 2 hydra 52s over my 75 gallon and have great results even with SPS
