i have two clown fish that i want to get a good home for.... an anemone... i started out with a green bubble loved that guy ..... but he hated to be hosted so he went and hid.... never came back out and eventually passed to davies locker.... second i got a metallic green long tentacle... it started out great.... planted its lot under a rock i cleared out for it ... then after about a month it uprooted and has basically just been attaching to the glass and laying on its side or detaching all together..... i have did water test and all come back in proper parameters.... just not to sure of where to go from here.... and it tends to have its mouth open a lot... i tried toffee it a silverside but it just basically let it fall off....

i don't want to loose this guy we love him...

Did you inspect the anemone when you bought it?

i bought it from my LFS i trust very much... it was great for a while.... i just don't know whats going on with it now......

Can you list your water parameters?

How long has your tank been running?

Lighting, flow, etc.?

Need a lot more information and current pics of system and the anemone to help you.

Otherwise, we're wasting our time.

Tank parameters are as follows.
Salinity 1.023
Ph 8.3
Ammonia 0 ppm
Nitrite 0 ppm
Nitrate 5 ppm
Calcium 400
Phosphate 0.25 ppm
Kh 9dkh
Mag 1200

Attached to the glass. But the last few days is just laying on the sand.

Lighting is t-5 bulbs 6 months old
250w hmi 6 months old.

Medium flow is my best guess.

The tank looks good. I think if you do a 50% water change it will really help him.

Also, you have a lot of rock in there. I would take 50lbs out and open up your scape so you will have better flow through the system. I believe you will notice big improvements with your nems and have better success keeping nitrates in check. The tank looks a little cloudy.? Are you running Carbon? I would run some GFO too for a little bit to try and improve water quality. Something is stressing him.

1- 1lb marine pure bio block can nearly replace all the rock in your DT. No need for that much rock.

I run 3 lbs of Marine Pure in my sump. 1 LG block 8x8x4" and 2 lbs of the bio balls.

Open scape with great flow through system

I am in the process of cycling a new tank. So once it's cycled I am moving everyone to the bigger and hopefully better system.

Only 90 lbs in the 180 gallon. I do have a gfo and carbon reactor. I have it shut down currently. As I was going to move it to the bigger system. But I don't want to loose this guy. He is going to look great in the new tank.

Btw thank for the comment on the tank. I know I had a bit much. But it was my first start. And then I got the big boy ( new tank ) I have a thread on here " my 180 build ".

The new tank looks great bro. I think you'll get much better flow through the new system with that open scape.

Now...back to the old system and problem nem.

Start your Carbon and GFO reactors. Skim wet. Do a 50% WC. Dose some Kordon Amquel Plus.

I can almost promise you if you do those few things, he will perk up. If he doesn't, he may need to be treated.

Keep me updated with pics and progress and I'll keep trying to help.
